Scottpuffin: I am only repeating what Arsene said at his press conference, he said that no more transfers in or out, Squillaci is the last. I hope he is playing games and this is not the case cos we are so desperate for a new keeper it’s ridiculous.
George: I will be getting behind The Clown we have in goal, no worries on that. I always support whoever wears the shirt, not supporting them whilst they are on the pitch wearing our colours is just detrimental to the team!

this is the kind of defender we have required for ages – he will organise the defence brilliantly
if he doesnt start he will also be brilliant to come on for the last 15-10 mins of match to make sure we stay strong at the back if the game is tight.

George, worry ye not I will always support who is playing. I may call him a clown on here but I can guarantee that Manuel is not a regular reader of this blog. I will support him on the pitch but i will also be honest with my thoughts. In my opinion Manuel is a clown but I will support him ON THE PITCH when he is playing for us.

I Wenger does not bring a keeper then its pure negligence.
There are some great keepers around such as Given,and many others who would jump at the chance to play at arsenal with Liverpools currant financial problems and the fact they have signed Brad Jones what about an 18 million bid for reina? or a 40 million joint bid Mascirano and Raina

Schwarzer is marginally better than what we have, but not worth being messed around by Mark Hughes to get him. I wish we would go in for Sorensen.

Just read Wengers comments about a new keeper, it seems he is trying not to put pressure on his 4 keepers. He said there still a chance but no deal is in place at the moment.
I feel confident it’s not over yet, and wenger is trying.
@livearsenal, Sorensen is not a bad shout actually. He’s similar in size to Schwarzer, and a commanding presence. Also, he’s very experienced.
I think a lot of Arsenal fans are pinning their hopes on Schwarzer winning Arsenal trophies. He will not! I honestly can say, hand on heart, he’s not better than Almunia. At the moment, all Almunia is lacking is confidence. If you look back on Schwarzer’s career, he’s full of errors. A lot more than Almunia. Check out final day of the season, check out his last two world cups in big games. There are plenty more, these are just offend top of my head. Given is good, but not want Arsenal want, Wenger wants a keeper to come off his line and claim corners, Given doesn’t do this. Good yes, want Wenger wants? No. From watching many keepers, only a few are stand out, the rest are not much better than what we have. I would rather us Arsenal ‘fans’ get behind Almunia. I know it’s one game, but champions league vs Barcelona, we would have been 7-0 down in 30 minutes without Almunia! Get behind and support him. If he is going to sign a keeper, let’s hope it’s a top one like Lloris, Mandanda, Stekelenburg. Even with those, I wouldn’t put them head and shoulders above Almunia. Keepers are in decline, the old Buffon, Schmeichal, Kahn, that was when keepers are at the top. These days? Cech, maybe before injury. That’s it. No one can compare to the past keepers.
Tom, I would like anyone to name me a keeper who didn’t make a mistake last season! All keeper’s make mistakes.
Almunia is a good shot stopper, as proved against Barcelona. His biggest weakness is concentration and crossing. Most keepers are absolutely fine when bombarded with shots for 90 minutes (ala Almunia vs Barcelona), but it’s the games where he has nothing to do for 25 minutes and is then called up, where he falls short.
As I’ve stated before, I’ve got two mates who are season ticket holders for both Middlesbro and Fulham, and they both tell me that he is absolutely top quality. They would’ve both seen more of Schwarzer than any Arsenal fans have.
Oh I know all keepers make mistakes, but Schwarzer makes more than Almunia. Only reason it’s not highlighted, is that he’s not a a big club. David James made loads of mistakes, and he was Englands number 1. Everyone will make mistakes, just he’s no better than what we have. Wenger always said that Englands answer to failing is to buy someone. Why not support our keeper, and let the coaches improve him. He just needs confidence. I do agree Schwarzer is good, will he win us titles on his own? No. Is he better than Almuinia? I don’t think he is. I’m not trying to have an argument, I like your blogs, I just don’t think he’s the answer. I’d rather get behind Almunia, as I don’t see that many top keepers around these days.

As I said, I’ve not really seen enough of him to tell if he really is what we need, and I am totally going by what I’ve heard.
And I totally agree, and I will 100% get behind Almunia if he is indeed our number 1 this season.
As you said, whoever is number one will be well supported by me! I do have a good feeling this year. The players just need to be confident, have confidence in team mates, and have the support of the fans!! Looking forward to the champs league draw!!
