Arsenal back in the race for the Premiership

With Chelsea losing to Everton, and Man United drawing with Aston Villa in the week, it seems that the Wenger-haters have gone into hibernation mode as Arsenal look to capitalise on the slips from the big boys to gain ground in the race for the Premiership.

Arsenal are now 6 points behind leaders Chelsea, and 5 points behind Man United. With the top two having the harder run-in, including playing each other, to the end of May. Can Arsenal win the Premiership? Of course we can. Will we win the Premiership? Personally, I don’t believe we will, but its far from over yet, and I’m sure we still have a few twists and turns until the end of the season.

Do we still get rid of Arsene Wenger, like a minority of fans would love? Don’t be silly. It’s crazy talk to even suggest we look at getting rid of Wenger.

With the International fixtures, and FA Cup this weekend, it’s going to be a dull one until we face Porto away in the Champions League on Wednesday night. I’m sure we’ll nick a 1-1 draw, and destroy them at The Emirates.

In other reports, it seems that long-term target Marouane Chamakh of Bordeaux has reportedly signed a pre-contract agreement with Arsenal, and will join the club in the summer. This will explain why Arsene Wenger didn’t buy a striker in the January transfer window.

It gives us an idea why he didn’t see a striker but not an explanation.
We needed one immediately not in the Summer, the season will have ended by then and we could all be left saying oh, if only we had had a striker against stoke to finish that chance, or against sunderland to finish that chance.
I hope to God wenger proves me wrong and this Chakmah turns out to be amazing, but from what i’ve seen and he’s stats, i just can’t believe he’s what we need up front.
Does that mean he’ll be a strter also? On £50 000 a week i bloody hope so. Which means will Robin Van Persie play on the other side of Cesc instead of Nasri/Rosicky or Walcott?

Not many clubs spent money on this transfer season. Bucks are tight. Hang on to your seat but I still think and believe Arsenal will win the EPL. Chelsea and Man U have trouble winning on the road. Half of the games left are on the road. Look at last years years road record for Chelsea and Man U and compare with this years. Oh what a relief it is. Two History. The Gunners have stopped Man U for winning the historic four peat.

We are still in with a shout. It will be tough though, no doubting that.

Chamakh is a mixture of both van Persie and Bendtner, so he could be exactly what we’re after.
