THEO NOT HIMSELF, ADMITS WENGER

Despite Arsene Wenger stating he’s not worried by Theo Walcott’s lack of form, the Gunners boss has admitted the winger “is not completely himself”.

The England man has only started three Premier League games this season and looked well off the pace in the recent FA Cup defeat at Stoke.

Confidence plays a huge part in Walcott’s game and the 20-year-old is clearly devoid of any of that at the moment. His displays of late have been in stark contrast to that September night in Zagreb in 2008 when Walcott was unplayable as he blasted a hat-trick for England against Croatia. It’s certainly not been easy for Walcott, he has been plagued by shoulder problems since he arrived at The Emirates from Southampton as a 16-year-old in 2006. Sven-Goran Eriksson controversially fast-tracked the youngster into the World Cup squad and he was immediately heralded as a great prospect for the future. That’s certainly long forgotten in Walcott’s own mind, but Wenger is sure the player he picked up for a fee which could rise to £12million will come good again.

Wenger said: “I am not worried about Walcott… What you cannot expect from Walcott at the moment is what he cannot give you.

“He needs some time to play and come back to full fitness. He has only played a few games this season.

“If he gets injury free now, he will have a good end of season. But at the moment he is not completely himself.”

Arsenal’s Premier League odds suggest they are still in with a chance of winning the title this season although they will need a result at Chelsea this weekend if they are to stay in the hunt.

However, Wenger may feel he has bigger fish to fry and the Gunner’s Champions League chances might be of more concern to him.

They face Porto in just over a week and the Arsenal players will be hopeful a securing a good away win in the first leg of the knockout tie.

Fantastic comment. To be honest I thought it was the instructions on a packet of chicken noodle soup.

  • i hate wenger cause he spoils the fun and happiness of we fans we i had a gun and i am able to reach him i will shoot him and even make sure he is dead before i leave him. he is so hearthless he only thinks about is own profit cause is among the management cause he has shares in the club but he dosnot think about the feelings of the fans. wenger your hearthless and useless. pls leave the club for us cause if you dont you will die sooner.

  • is time for you to risign pls leave the club for us you have tried i think you have mental problems cause you are too free over the club. no one to question you on whatever you do . and one more thing about the fa cup i dont know why his very greedy and selfish for using the small boys that we hardly recongnise.and the match you rested the big boys for what did we see all we saw was a disaster.you can imagine faguson calling arsenal chicken that we are no problem to them ,i just dont know what to do if i should get hold of wenger i swear he will surely die. for how many seasons now we are always trophyless. and this season i thought i am gonna meet chealsea at the fa cup final. but look at it now he made us loose this for his selfishness and greediness. wenger pls leave the club for us plssssss. we need trophy can’t you get it. or are you mad?i am sure your insane now with that you long nose.

  • who cares about Walcott. We know he will get his form back. More worried about Wenger’s insanity and his love for little boys with no expereince.

  • Shut up tunnex you mug

  • One Arsene Wenger,
    There’s only one Arsene Wenger,
    There’s ony one Arsene Wenger…

  • Tunnex, go back to Nigeria. I can tell you have no clue what football is about.

  • tunnex….. a big man with a gun. you could shoot wenger, or you could turn the gun on yourself…. i think the latter will benefit not only the club but the world in general.

  • Luke…use the force…

  • Tunnex, you are a moron, and should take my previous posters advice and shoot your dayummn self.. Do the world a favour..

Oh BTW, I think daggerdham & rottenham or something like that needs a supporter.. Feel free..

  • Tunnex is clearly amongst the fan base who only started supporting Arsenal over the last 5 years. If you’d seen how dull football was without Wenger in charge, I guarantee your opinion would differ.

  • While i do believe that theo will pick himself up, i think we need to buy another young, fast winger like Eden Hazard who at 19 i believe is being touted as the next Ronaldo and chased by Man Utd, Barca, Madrid and Chelsea.
He’ll cost 12mil now and that’s cheap, his price will rise and rise every year.
But we should look to these players only after we’ve sorted out our real problems, world-class striker, keeper some big tacklers like Essien etc

  • Once again the little school boys got beat by men. Wegner is going a great job to us arsenal fans.
