I would love to see Arsene Wenger sacked. Why? So, these so-called Arsenal fans can appreciate how depressing life really is without the great man in charge.
Seriously, some of the criticism he’s taken over the last 24 hours has been absolutely shocking, and as an Arsenal fan, and a football fan, it’s totally embarrassing.
Ask any team in Europe, which one manager would you like in charge, bar Alex Ferguson, 90% would choose Arsene Wenger.
People forget what he’s done for this club. The day we lose Wenger is the day Arsenal are in trouble. The Premiership has improved so much over recent years, and only since the massive buy-outs of clubs like Chelsea have seen us really struggle, if you call a top 4 position every season a struggle.
You people have very selective memories, and it’s shocking to think some of the fans are calling for the head of our manager.
People say he doesn’t spend money, this is the man who’s purchased Vermaelen, Arshavin and Nasri in the last couple of years. Let’s not forget, Wenger has been stung by very disappointing big-money signings over his reign, and I’m sure he doesn’t want to be bitten again. People were crying out for Robinho a few years ago, he is shocking! Berbatov signed for Man United for almost £30m, he’s been diabolical. Wenger is not going to spend money on players that aren’t going to guarantee quality. No player can do that.
I’m sure once the dust settles, and if we get a result at Chelsea, most Arsenal fans will be off Wenger’s back. But for now, the blog posts and comments I’ve seen are shocking, and idiotic.
The grass isn’t always greener on the other side chaps. We’re third in the Premiership, 5 points behind the leaders, and in with a great shout of Champions League success with what should be, on paper, an easy tie against Porto.
I’m sure I’m going to get battered for this post, but we’re all entitled to our opinions.

One thing I will say is that Alex Ferguson was close to getting sacked after a few years in charge of Man United. Can you imagine if he was sacked?
I agree that Almunia and Denilson are possibly not good enough. But I can’t agree on Bendtner, Vela and Fabianski just yet, they need more time. Let’s not forget that Diaby finally come good after 562 games. They all need a long run in the team.

Vinie, don’t get me wrong, I’m as frustrated at players like Bendtner, Vela and Fabianski as you are, but these are three players who probably haven’t played more than 4 consecutive games each. We gave Diaby a chance, and he’s looking good, likewise with Flamini and Song.
I’m not saying they are going to world beaters, but I’m saving judgement. I’ve battered Diaby for the past three years and he looks like he might have turned a corner. Let’s hope these three, and many more, do the same thing.
And yes, Wenger does know the league inside out, but the Premiership used to consist of 3 or 4 quality teams, but nowadays it’s evening itself out. The likes of Everton, Tottenham, Birmingham, Man City, etc.. are all becoming tough opponents. Years ago, that wasn’t the case.

i adore wegner, and that isnt too strong a word for it, but he does havc blind-spots, as we all do, and i fear that unless he delivers some silverware this season the cries for him to go will become unbearable and he will quit.

Not spending money for the fear that it might be a wrong buy…it is like don’t go and attack for the goal for the fear of counterattack..wat are you talking about …this is total negative & defensive approach!! If AW had spent £30m on a striker & a goalie…most likely it would have been a wise buy…if not atleast fans would have said he tried!!
I am fully convinced that this side in its current shape can’t win any trophy!! They fail to deliver in big occasions and that due to lack of experience and star players!!
So I am very disappointed and fellow gunners, I am sorry to say we can’t win anything atleast this season…transfer window was our only hope..and with its closure today…trophy doors are shut for us as well!!

If you’re not happy about the way our beloved club is run turn in your shirts (that’s even if you own one) and f**k off to Spurs or Man City, you will be much happier there as they spend spend spend but so far for what? The arsenal are know for holding ourselves with great pride and distinction all of which Wenger has built into the club. Sometimes there will be games like yesterday where our holding midfielders all run up the pitch with the urge and belief that they can score or assist in the process only to run back not facing the game (Denilson) to find a simple ball was put behind you to allow the opposition to score.
On that note looking at yesterdays erros with Almunia I have to agree with most but who else could you bring in to do a job? The game is lacking in goal keepers not just English but all the world round. Part of me doesn’t see the skills that even the crazy Lehman had! Also I am a little controversial as I have had a grudge against him ever since he put blonde streaks in his hair!! If you can’t make sensible choices off the pitch then surely you can’t be trusted to make them on it! But I support our boys as we all should we all make bad choices but it’s harder for them as we are watching their every move!
Support the club that has given you all so much don’t embarrass the club and its true through angry posts and badly written blogs, by publicly crying like girls when things go wrong is the worst weakness that gives strength to other teams and players the idea is to stand together and stand strong… never run away and never back down!

I have never advocated sacking Wenger, what I have said is that he should consider changing his policy ( and that doesn`t mean dashing out in th mid of winter to buy replacements) it means moving a few players on and filling the holes with one, two maybe three senior professionals in the coming summer. If he is not prepared to do this then all the rhetoric in the world won`t save him from the fans and he should consider joining the Board and appointing a manger with a fresh approach. That`s all.

I agree with some of the comment been made against A. Wenger about his football philosophy which is costing the club trophys for 5 years.
Have you asked yoursf why he sold henry £16m, Viera £16m, Hleb, Reyes, Ade, Toure and still refusing to buy.
Ade had to be replaced after his sale but wenger refused to pay reasonable money for Chamakhi.
Ask yoursf if Wenger thinks Chamakhi is not worth more than £6, does he honestly think Ade worth 25m ? And if not why he took 25m for Ade. He got Diarria 3m three months later he sold him 5m. He wanted him for 6m whiles he sold Ade 25m. When Bordoux demanded more money even the player was willing to come but wenger played hard ball that player is free to sign anywhere in June 2010 after accusing AC. Milian of snapping Flamini. Seriously you guys all need to just relax for a minute, and take a breather or two, yes i agree denilson, almunia, clichy, nasri were all poor, arshavin greedy with the only players who actually looked liked they wanted to win was sagna, gallas, vermaelen, cesc and rosicky. But the fact is the players who all performed poor or greedy we’ve all seen them put in unbelievable shifts and excellent performances on more than 1 occasion apart from almunia and denilson.
The season we nearly won the league 07-08, clichy was voted best left back in the league that tells you everything about him, arshavin well we all know what he can do as he turned our season around last season, nasri we all know he is a great player too but these players all have either slight injuries or have just come back from an injury to a very competitive must win game. So I dont know why you guys think they’re not good enough for, I feel just like you all absolutely gutted that we played below our expectations and I’m still hurt. But the fact is we need to stick together go to chelsea and win against all odds, hopefully we have diaby and eduardo back fit because chelsea have a full squad apart form essien, I know its hard to stay positive but even cesc mentioned it on the site “we have to stay strong and stick together, and we have to bounce back at chelsea” that says it all, please seriously arguing amongst each other about Arsene, or the players is not gonna do the any difference apart from us fans and the players on Sunday afternoon so lets leave it as that.

AW is the main reason I supported Arsenal after following another rival club for so many years.
He brought class to Arsenal, something we lacked in 80s and early 90s. The best part of all, he developed talents out of nowhere. AW is a talent developer not a shopper for talents, the latter is so much easier. With enough money, the whole of barcelona team can be called arsenal overnight.. same players different team which is what chelsea, man city do, and lesser extend liverpool.
We were all disappointed on Sunday, but the pain i believe was 10x less severe suffered by AW himself. Give him a chance, give arsenal a chance to fix the wrong..

people are freaking out. arsenal were first last week and lose and drop to 3rd and people start demanding wenger to be fired. its stupid and ridiculous. YES, we need a keeper whos at least a lot better than almunia. but gal and Verm have had an excellent season. our left and right back positions are the weak spot. And yes, we could use another top class striker, but only bc Eduardo and Van Persie are out and Bendtner is just back from injury. Its not as if theyre not good enough. keep in mind-were a really young team…and guess what, players get better as they get older. Don’t mind his tactics, we’ve been scoring a lot of gols this season. I think his defensive strategy has never been up to scratch, but in the past it has been covered up by a quality back line.
The thing that annoys me is that he wont buy the players even of they are in his price bracket. There are tonnes of players for 15 mil or less that ARE world class, but he says that they wont improve our squad. In what world would buying Given for 7 mil and getting rid of Almunia not improve our squad?! and also, how can buying a quality striker not improve our squad? Sadly it seems that Wenger isliving in a dream world. But I’d rather he wake up and start listening to the fans than get sacked. If he went, noone knows how many of our players will leave with him. By birth I am not an Arsenal fan but seeing their excellent passing football I have become a diehard gooner and for that beautiful football 100% credit should be given to Mr. Arsene Wenger. When Arsenal are trying to score from their own corner against Everton, Everton scored earlier this month, just as United did. It was the same story in the Champions League semi-final at the Emirates last season when United hit us on the break. If you ever concede a goal from your own corner kick, it is viewed as the biggest insult to defending. There is something fundamentally wrong. No team on earth has ever won silverware with a last line of defence of Almunia’s calibre. Can’t AW buy a proper goalkeeper and striker. A player like Arshavin is misutilised. Denilson, Bendtner, Walcott, Eboue …… list is endless. AW should understand the mental agony of millions of Arsenal fans in the world. After all he is not bigger than the club. This team can not bring glory in the form of trophy. If I am proved wrong, I will be the happiest person.

Damien – Arsenal are 5 points behind Chelsea but Chelsea have a game in hand it could be 8 point by the time we play them on Sunday. If we lose on Sunday then we’d be back to 11 points behind Chelsea.
Arsene should step down because he has taken Arsenal as far as he can I believe, he’s been tactically outclassed by Ferguson and Ancelotti this season.
Arsenal have a good enough squad to compete however we could do with 3 or 4 players to really improve our squad but they would cost money and possibly ruin the chances of younger players coming through. But we need to stop worrying about the future and concentrate on the present.

Does anybody REALLY think that Wenger is not signing players out of choice, take a step back and look at how ridiculous that belief is? Before we moved to the Emirates he spent money every season. Yes it was restrained but it was always progressive.
His hands are tied by the lack of funds available. He has made it clear from this time last year right up until the last week or so that we need to strengthen, with experience in midfield and defence. Just look back at his quotes after the Semi -final exit to Man U.
As for the board, let’s again take a step back and think sensibly about the lack of funds. If they had the money available they would give it to the Boss to spend. They’re not stupid, they realise that that the blame lack of transfer activity will ultimately fall at their feet. So you have to come to the conclusion that the money is not there. Do you expect Wenger to come out and say were pot-less, as that would just invite the big spenders to make bids for the likes of Cesc, Van p, Clichy ect.

I’m not a blind ‘Arsene knows’ supporter. Last season quite honestly he drove me mad, especially with his persistence with Denilson. Remember, his is a winner and these last four/five seasons would be killing him inside. How do you think he feels when Fergie sees him as a friend performing miracles with no money all because he’s no longer a threat to the red faced twat. David Dein has also confirmed were not in a position to spend on several occasions in the past 24 months, as has Ade the greed.
It conclusion we either stick with the board, keep the tradition and in around Ten years or so, end up a self-sufficient debt free club wining an FA CUP, if we’re lucky on the way. Alternately we pray the Russian makes his move and make funds available. I’m torn I will be supporting the club long the debt is pay off and I love to think we would be a big player without the debt of Man U Chelsea and the like. Although I want to be back at the top of the table properly challenging the big spenders, not just laying down and dying in the Semis.
What to do?
In my opinion if we don’t buy a couple of players of real quality, the ‘boo boys’ will go mad and we will see a change. I just hope if it has to be done it’s the board not the boss it is aimed at, as we could come to regret losing a miracle worker.

Agree with totally.. It is always frustrating when we lose a match of this importance.. But we have an amazing club who r the envy of majority clubs in world.. It is obvious that the team needs some strenghtening, and I am sure that will happen.. In the meantime, we should just keep the faith and enjoy all the positive aspects of this great great club…!!! We have enjoyed some amazing nights and great triumphs, and we will again…!!! Come on the Gunners…!!!!

People should remember that everyday is not a xmas day. I believe fan should measure the club success by the accunt position of the club and not how many goals or defeaf. Man U is in a debt about £716million. Does this make Alex the best manager that people tend to make him to be. No problem with what you are saying as long as people are happy with 4th every year, putting our reserves out in the cups etc.. and gething embassed by the likes of stoke. I can see Fabregas leaving in the summer,and I wouldn’t blame him in the slightest.There’s absolutely no spine to the side.And the main reason for that is Mr. Wenger.I say bring in Laurent Blanc in the summer,and completely overhaul the squad.Wenger will never be interested in the art of defending,without which Arsenal won’t win any trophies.Apart from anything,he’s not as tactically astute as he once used to be.Football has moved on a lot since he joined Arsenal.
