ARSENAL KEEN ON DAVID VILLA? / MOSES TO SIGN FOR WIGAN

Supposed Arsenal target Victor Moses looks set to sign for Wigan today, in a deal set to be worth a reported £2.5m.

Personally, I’ve never seen Moses play, and I’m not sure he’s even the sort of player we need right now. We probably do need a striker, with our increasing list of injuries including Eduardo, van Persie and Bendtner, but I can’t see 19-year-old Moses to make a difference this season, and we need a quick impact player. Arshavin worked wonders last season when we signed him, and no doubt turned our season around. We need another signing like him right now.

We’ve been linked with the likes of Saha and Carlton Cole in recent weeks, and these are probably the kind of players that could make a difference this season, but I can’t see us signing any relatively big-name signings.

Either way, I have total faith in Wenger and the current squad, and I have no doubt in my mind that we are more than capable of challenging for silverware this season with our current players.

Wenger has admitted that he does want to sign a big-name striker, but the players available just aren’t right for Arsenal. Chamakh isn’t available, and Wenger even announced David Villa of Valencia isn’t available! Whether or not Wenger has just thrown in the name of Villa to get the fans excited to think that we’re after these sort of players is another story altogether.

“You always want to add a [Cristiano] Ronaldo if you can, but is he available and where is he?

“Marouane Chamakh is not available because he is playing with Bordeaux and Bordeaux don’t want to release him. David Villa as well, Valencia don’t want to let him go.”

Arguably, we have the biggest game of the season ahead of us today against Man United, and if we are to win that one, then we will be in a very good position. If we don’t happen to win, let’s not get down about it. There is a long, long way to go.

  • Doubt we were ever in for Villa. I think you’re right, Wenger is getting the fans excited.

  • Moses has just signed for Wigan.

  • Let us reserve judgment until the evening of 10 Feb 1.e. after the Liverpool game. We will then know (a) how our season is panning out and (b) whether AW’s tactics and strategy has been correct.

  • AW is a cunt….he always talks about i wanted to sign so and so after the transfer window closes……as always he just likes to fucking dream but not face reality that we need a striker and a defender…….to all goners.. get it in your head that we will not win any silverware this season…..why because AW chooses not to strengthen the quad and wants to continue to fill those fat fuckers board members pockets……

  • It’s not that Wenger WON’T buy at all. He wants players that will add quality to the squad to make us better than we are, but it’s hard getting that calibre of player at the right time. He’s made an approach for David Villa but he’s not available so what can you do about it? Should we panic spend all that £30 mil’ on some kind of flop like berbatov, Veron, Shavchenko, Robinho, or Jo? No we shouldn’t cos we’re the Arsenal and we have to buy a special kind of player who has the skills, technique and football brain just to make the bench because of the way we play!!! For me Wenger can carry as he is and buy the cheaper Thierry Henrys, the vieiras, the Fabregas’s and Van Persies etc and give us something honest and unique that make us what we are….and WE ARE the best footballing side, with a chance, every season, of competing at the top. IF we can just keep these players together, and IF we can add those quality players at the right time for us, then we shall sweep aside all those who dare to step on the same pitch as us for a good few years to come…..the present and the future’s bright and by god the future’s red and white…..

  • He made an approach for David villa knowing he’s not going to buy……you must be deluded as AW Unbeaten, are you watching the Manu & Arsenal game at the moment..!! maybe that will open your eyes….we are 2 – 0 down at half time. AW wants players that are 15 years old……he’s had his chances but keeps blowing it….Arsenal cannot compete with Chelsea or Manu, these teams know what is takes to win the PL….if they need to spend they spend…..future is not bright all, what will happen is that other teams will buy experienced players whist we try and play youngsters. Wake up smell the coffee….we will not win a single trophy from now whilst AW is in charge.

  • wilson/ nigeria

AW is da biggest fool. He kills d arsenal game d more every season. If i were there, i dnt mind killin AW. On d spot.

  • Guess what Wenger its time to go and please bring Almunia Denilson and Wallcott with you

  • ITS the big games that expose the quality of the squad. Just not up to it. Fancy football here and there, ok against Portsmouth, Bolton etc..but you need character and that killer instinct when you re up against ManU, Chelsea, the top u teams. Arsenal are seriously missing the services of an all-and -out finisher upfront. The injuries will continue to plague the team, and the gamble( yes, its a gamble) will NOT pay off. Its not a matter of having enough faith, but from the reality on ground, no amount of faith is gonna save us when the ‘well runs dry’. Sad Arsenal 1- ManU 3. Reality check Wenger.

  • we will do better in next season…………aw’s another latest words for arsenal……he just threw arsenal away from title hopes

  • We will do better in coming season….aw’s words 4 arsenal………stupid

  • Wenger needs to get things straight, he has never won a trophy with a small (statue) squad and with all the talent this squad won’t. Watching the manu v arsenal game today brought home my point so well. As a committed arsenal fan i am totally disappointed in Wengers decision not to strengthen our squad with the injuries we’ve had, at present the team does not have a striker confident enough to take on opposing defenders and none with aerial ability, it is depressing to see quality crosses coming in an no one to finish. WE MISS VAN PERSIE

  • I feel for AW, he has been ravaged by injuries at crucial times. Unfortunately, that seems to happen every season. Unlucky?

  • Very unlucky. To be fair, if we finish 3rd this season, it’s an improvement on last season. The title race isn’t over yet, but we must go on another cracking run to maintain any hope.
I can’t help but think the FA Cup defeat to Stoke has had a huge psychological effect on us. Winning becomes a habit, but so too does losing.

  • dont give up wenger is still the man
we play exciting football but need to improve in certain areas
a striker never mind about van persie we need carlton cole he will be better than rooney
goalkeeper we should go for harper of newcastle
give walcot a run to the end of the season he will come good
ramsey is ready to play alongside ces also buy back flamini
if we need finance to bring players in sell
    denilson,vela,fabianski

  • Too all the wenger haters that posted. Wenger is a great manager and lets not forget 14 years ago we was struggling to come 5-6 in the table under george greyham. Wenger has won us trophies and brought in some of the worlds best players for practicaly nothing. I agree the arsenal team is in need of a overhaul and we need to go out and spend some cash to bring in someone like david villa. I also think Arsenal have been in dire luck this season and last season with a string of injuries that have really had effect our pitch presance. Put it this way if man united had rooney out for half a season and drogba out for half a season would they be in the same possition and coping aswell in the league. Im not too sure, but there is only 3 points between us and first place and we have easyer games to go. Soo the league is really open between the top 3 especialy with United and chelsea having to play each other.

Anyways haters your not true arsenal fans.
