Firstly, let me just say that I thought Diaby had his best ever game in an Arsenal shirt, and I’m even going as far as giving him my man of the match. I think Song edged it to be honest, but I’m giving it to the Arsenal fans who continuously abuse me for my hatred towards Diaby. I still don’t rate him, after 4 good games in 285, but let’s hope he can take this form on moving forward.

I’ll be brutally honest, we aren’t doing too badly this season, mainly down to the inconsistency of teams around us, but we are carrying too many passengers. We can’t afford to be carrying them anymore. I would say the following players – Eduardo, Diaby, Walcott and Denilson – really need to step up right now and show us what they’re made of. They aren’t delivering consistently enough and they need to sort it out. I would’ve included Silvestre in that category, but to be fair to him, he hasn’t played nearly enough games. Now is the time boys.
Onto the player ratings:
- Almunia (7) – Made a vital penalty save.
- Eboue (6) – Nothing outstanding, but he did a job. To be fair, he gave that horrible bastard Hunt a nice little kick too.
- Gallas / Vermaelen (7) – Both solid enough, but Hull really didn’t offer that much to be fair.
- Silvestre (5) – Every time he gets the ball, I absolutely shit myself. Didn’t do too badly today, but looked very nervy going forward. Maybe I’m expecting a Clichy-like run down the wing from the middle-aged centre back. It’s not going to happen is it?
- Song – (7) – Played well again today. We are going to miss him so much during the ACN. Quite simply, we don’t have a replacement!
- Denilson (6) – Tweaked due to fans comments.
- Diaby (7.5) – His best ever game for Arsenal. Had a part to play in all three goals.
- Nasri (5) – Quiet, quiet game for Nasri.
- Eduardo (6.5) – Looks out of sorts playing in the 4-3-3 or 4-5-1. Really needs to play up front with a partner. We’re not going to see the best of Eduardo if he continues to be stuck on the wing. Tweaked due to fans comments.
- Arshavin (5) – Another quiet game for Arshavin. Looks off the pace this season.
Subs:
- Ramsey (6.5) – I thought Ramsey looked quality when he came on. I’d start him alongside Song instead of Denilson, all day long.
- Walcott (5) – Looked sharp when he came on, and was unlucky not to score.
- Vela (n/a) – Didn’t really have time to shine.
I would like to add, that I am starting to hate Hull like a bitter-rival. I think it’s mainly down to the fact that they have nasty little horrible players, including Stephen Hunt, Nick Barmby and Craig Fagan, but mainly because they have Phil Brown in charge. I can’t think of anyone in football who I dislike as much as him. Possible exceptions being Robbie Keane, Ashley Cole, Lampard and John Terry. What a prick.

(1) Be fair on Almunia – He could easily have won us the three points. You know why? Because the game would have been different if Geovanni scored. Yet Almunia saved.
(2) Eduardo had a good game. And scored a goal. Yet you give him a 4 ?

And sorry, but Denilson getting a 4 is a complete joke. Along with Song, he was the best player on the pitch today. It’s a shame some people don’t recognise what he does, because he really is an integral part of the team, especially with Fabregas out.
I was gonna give a text lashing, but it seems everyone has beat me to it.. Almunia’s save was vital, Denilson’s goal was superbly taken, and Diaby DEFINITELY had his best game in an Arsenal kit and for that deserves more than a 7.5.
Ease up on the boys, playing without Captain Fabregas and winning 3-nil (emphasis on the clean sheet) I’d say they did well tonight.

not fair on Denilson…he was all over the place and had a brilliant free kick. he made several crunching tackles throughout the game and did a solid job. Diaby did well, but Song is man of the match and has been for several weeks now…solid defensive midfielder…remember all those people saying we had to buy a defensive mid over the summer…eating crow now. Denilson will cover well for him while he is gone as long as we play the following formation

We now can see the great impact Diaby provides for arsenal, if he was there against chelsea dnt thnk we would have lost the game… He provides cover for Cesc going up since it is predictable by others teams most of our attacks come from Cesc hence easy to pin him down…
