At last the weekend is here and we can all look forward to another Arsenal performance against a Fulham side that were narrowly beaten by Moneybags City in the Carling Cup this week.
Fulham will be aware that Arsenal will be positively buoyant following the news that our Red-Hot Ruskie Andrey Arshavin and Speedy Walcott will likely both be fit and raring to go tomorrow.
Robin Van Persie is also likely to be passed fit adding to an extremely strong looking Arsenal side.
The entire squad were handed a well needed reprieve this week whilst the Gunner youngster were thrust into the expectant limelight of the Carling Cup. It seems journalists and fans alike have now become accustomed to Arsene Wenger fielding a team of young players all of whom most likely require a ‘note’ from a parent or guardian to stay out that late!
Nevertheless the youngster fired themselves through an inform West Brom courtesy of Carlos Vela and Sanchez Watt. Both of whom I would expect to see on the bench this weekend, if not Watt certainly Vela.
I expect as most, that Fulham will be totally outclassed on Saturday and will rely on defence frailties and counter-attacking football to try and impress on the game. But with Vermaelen in form this will not be as easier a task as it was last year when the Cottagers beat us at home and held us 0-0 at the Emirates.
Wenger will doubtlessly have his eye on a certain 6ft 4inch defender throughout and will be looking for his team to make a statement of intent to Chelsea and Manchester United both of whom look thoroughly beatable thus far.
On a sour note I believe we can ill-afford any more losses. This may seem a rather obvious sentiment but having two loses under your belt in the first few weeks of the season puts immense pressure on young shoulders.
However, I think a good win is on the cards for tomorrow’s trip across London and hope to see Arshavin in fine form as we’ve become accustomed to seeing.
Theo will be looking to make an immediate impact with only 45 Minutes of football since June meaning there are all the ingredients for an absolute corker tomorrow!
The team I would like to see line up against Fulham:
Mannone
Sagna Gallas Vermaelen Clichy
Song
Fabregas
Rosicky Arshavin Van Persie
Eduardo
This is a doubtful line up as I’m sure Wenger will want to work Diaby in there somewhere but I have a real urge to see Arshavin play down the centre in the Fabregas role.
Cesc could sit in the hole in front of defensive Song and work his magic, controlling the tempo and making cutting balls to Rosicky and Van Persie. One of whom will later be replaced by Theo Walcott.
I predict a 3-1 win tomorrow with Arshavin getting on the score sheet at some point during.
As always post your favoured starting elevens and let me know what you think of Andrey playing a more central, striking role behind Eduardo Da Silva.

You’re a dreamer if you think Chelsea look thoroughly beatable! When was the last time we beat them?
September 26, 2009 at 1:16 am
womble last season at the bridge,a brace from RVP to an OG from djourou. and indeed they do and very much so.

wow when you look at the line up you have to say it is indeed an unbelievable squad lets thrash those cottagers it is highbury no.2 but if we get the first goal then we will be fine c’mon arsenal

Agree with your selection now lets look at the bench.
Bendtner – Walcott – Vela – Ramsey – Diaby – Wilshere – and Watt.
Well if we can`t win with this lot something is wrong.

my team would be like this and im going for an arsenal 3-1 win with arshavin, van persie and bendtner scoring.
……………………………….mannone………………………….
….sagna……gallas……..vermaelen ……..clichy……….
……………………………..song…………………………………….
…………………cesc………………..diaby……………………….
……….bendtner…………………………..arshavin…………
……………………………van persie……………………………….
subs bench: szchney, silvestre, senderos, eboue, rosicky, walcott, eduardo..
arshavin, van persie, and sagna coming on later for rosicky, eduardo and eboue just for rotational and plus van persie and arshavin both just come back for a groin so lets be on the safe side. And we also need height on the pitch aswell as we all know fulham can cause problems from set pieces.
COME ON ARSENAL!!!!!!!!!!!

Diaby has No reason to start tomorow. Rosicky,Fabergas, Arshavin, Eboue and Song are all available, and all are head and shoulders better than Diaby. Hell, in my opinion you can add Ramsey and Wilshire to that list as well. Size means jack when there isn’t even a tiny bit of talent involved in the making of a player. Until Diaby steps up his game a ton, he will continue to be a utility/fill-in guy for our true stars when they’re out of the line-up. I’m So tired of watching this guy fail at everything.

I dont mind who plays but not diaby please…. he is simply a rubbish player..

Well, since Arshavin and Watcott has just returned i think neither of them will start.I suppose the most reasonable line-up for the diaby-obsessed Wenger is this:
Mannone
Sagna-Gallas-Vermaelen-Clichy
Song-Rosicky/Diaby
Fabregas
Bendtner-Rvp-Eduardo/Diaby
It’s rather difficult to score against a defensive side like fulham,so i’m going for a easy 2-0 win!

Glad it isn’t just me who seems to think that Wenger has a crush on Diaby, i think Wenger sees him as our next Vieira. There are of course obvious similarities in appearance, but that’s where it ends in my book.
Patrick was a great captain, leader and brilliant player. Diaby is none of the above.
While he can have good games, he very rarely astounds.
I should point out my little brother loves Diaby, , although he happens to be a Tottenham supporter, enough said!

Diaby has made it into the starting eleven, somehow. This is starting to go beyond a joke now. Live commentary says we look sluggish and really should be behind.

Really chuffed for Vito Mannone. Felt so sorry for him against Standard, actually wanted to run on and give him a hug.
You can imagine his dreams of glory the night before, shattered in 10 minutes.
But the Arsenal fans sing him off like a hero at Craven Cottage after a series fo fine saves.
Van Persie scores a cracker, and although not an awe inspiring performance, we’ve done a Chelsea.
1-0, 3 points.
