As Emmanuel Adebayor completed his move to high spending Manchester City, for a fee reported to be in the region of £25m, it’s left Arsenal needing to get a couple of players in and get them in quick.
It seems likely that we will sign Bordeaux’s Moroccan striker Marouane Chamakh for a reported fee of £7m. There is no smoke without fire, and there sure has been a lot of smoke surrounding his move to Arsenal, so it’s a given that he’s going to sign shortly. That leaves us with a lot of money left over to spend from the Adebayor transfer alone. Who would you like to see Wenger sign? Personally, I’d like him to go for a proven defensive midfielder in the shape of Mahamadou Diarra from Real Madrid. He seems out of favour at Real, and although injured he does seem to have dropped from the pecking order with our very own Diarra replacing him as the midfield hatchet man. M Diarra is an absolute quality player, and he would work wonders at Arsenal. He’s a mountain too, and one thing we seem to lack is height and intimidation. Does it seem likely Wenger would fork out on a player in his late 20s? He’s done it before with Arshavin, and that proved to be the best signing in the Premiership last season.

diarra is great but he said he is staying and any how we could have more money to come i mean senderos will bring us another 7 million and if we buy a dm this means that song or diaby or denilson might go so the money is there but will wenger buy? i for one doubt it any thoughts
I’m hoping he will use Song at centre back this year, and bring in an experienced defensive midfielder who can teach Denilson a thing or two.

i dont think wenger will buy a striker cos we already have a big target man – bendtner – and i reckon he could actually destroy this season, and that would also mean walcott being given a chance up front aswell, wenger has stated he sees song as cb so i dont think a new defender will come in, so a more defense minded cm – denilson is maturing into that role, diaby says hes been training during summer so this season will be to not dissapoint or be sold. maybe an attacking midfielder/winger like arda turan, navas or hazard may be bought.

i would like if arsene wenger buys huntelaar, he is a good striker and have a striker instinct and would be good combination with RVP.
If i were the new Arsenal Manager, i will quickly sign 17m Hunteelar, add money to the remaining 8m, then bring in Diarra, or the Legend Patrick Viera. Imagine Arsenal squad like this… 1. Almunia

I think we should also sell Bender. To rely on him as a replacement for Adebayor is just sad. He tries too hard and fails. I personally think Vela is much better than him.
As for people I’d like in, I think we should get hunter, he isn’t the fastest in the world, but he is a proven striker, and we need a greedy bastard in the box. Persie is good, but he is injury prone, and isnt the most consistant player. If hunter did good for us, i’d make him the main striker.
I would also like the likes of hazard, dzeko, naldo, sissoko (other strong midfielders) and at least one more good defender.
TBH we scored shit loads of goals last season, near what manu got, but we also let in a shit load more goals. So striking isnt something I am worried about, especially not with Ade going, because he didn’t do too well last season. We need to get an iron defence, and thats where 90% of the money should be concentrated.
