ARSENAL: WHO SHOULD WE SIGN?

I’m sure everyone is getting sucked into all the media reports linking us to anyone and everyone once again. With this in mind, who would you realistically like us to sign?

There is talk of a swap deal involving Kolo Toure and Michael Johnson or Stephen Ireland. For me, Stephen Ireland is the Player of the Year so far, but is he a one-season-wonder? Kevin Phillips springs to mind. I haven’t seen enough of Michael Johnson to be honest, but for me he’s not the enforcer we are looking for.

Arshavin has been doing the rounds for quite some now – could he really be joining us? I would love it if he joined us. I don’t think we need an attacking midfielder but he’s a massive player and the signing alone would give everyone a lift.

Yaya Toure would be my preferred signing but I can’t see it happening.

Have your say.

I still think our best buy would be veloso he’s just the sort of player we need and he can shoot wich is something few arsenal players seem to do with any success…

sorry arsenal most defnatly need an some attcking midfielers at the moment they only have 1 winger thst is healthly, they are alcking experience in that area at lest 2 players

We have Nasri, Vela, Eboue and Diaby fit to play. Four wingers!

We need 2 sign an effective winger who can play on both sides, likes Aaron Lennon and Cristiano Ronaldo. And most important blank is defensive holding midfielder. We can’t fill this blank fully since our leader Patrick leave. Fortunately, Mathieu can cover this but our director can’t afford his new contract whether they stingy or not. Now, this place is the worst in our squad. How can we fill it now? Andrei is attacking mid, despite we are delighted to sign. Our midfield is inferior than mid-standard EPL teams. And can’t reveal to another big 3.

Who’s the holding? Who’s the rock? Who’s will lead our defence? Who’s our new leader?

We need to find out as soon as possible.

    Aaron Lennon is shit.
The other top teams have at least two strong defensive midfielders – man u have carrick and hargreaves, liverpool have mascherano and lucas and chelsea have essien and obi-mikel. we are struggling in that position.

  6. Arsenal for the title!

  7. Chelsea looked crap and our crippled Arsenal would have spanked that Man u side today.
    Arsenal for the league.

    Hello Eric,

u said Lennon is shit? who’s ur ideal man for two wings? don’t leave like this. that’s a style of noob.

Any reason for suitable winger, side midfielder? If u want to argue with me, u have to make references.

Lennon is desperate leave coz he’s an out-of-favor man by Harry Redknapp. We can get him with reasonable prize.

Which effective winger can be afforded by poor, bankrupt, stingy gunners? haha …

I disagree to ur 2 defensive midfield program. According to our team formation and tactic, one defensive midfielder only needed. We have to reserve a place for Cesc. Home come can u say like that?

Now we need a defensive mid, an attacking mid who can substitute for Fabregas and an effective winger. Walcott is a player, all attributes need to develop a top-class player athough he made some moves.

But, I have no wonder if arsenal sign nobody. Shit to stingy board.

Its obvious that we need a center back, defensive midfielder and attacking midfielder. These would ideally be y.toure, arsharvin and micha richards but to be honest cant see us getting any of them.. arsharvin more likely as story wont go away.. and we have more chance of getting gokhan Inler than toure from barca, as for centre back i would welcome back Upson and he wouldnt be expensive.

  10. I would much rather Upson over Richards. I don’t rate Richards at all, he lacks concentration. He is very quick though.

  11. Terry T

I would welcome the signing of either upson or richards, arshavin is apparantly 90% done so looks a done deal.. not much time to get our DEFENSIVE midfielder now tho, and thats what we propa need.

i wouldn’t mind having arshavin at all, but i would much rather spend more of our money on a quality holding midfielder. i have heard more about arshavin (who is surplus offensive option when we start getting other players fit) and little to none about our defensive frailties that wenger knows about.

we are terrible at defending in the air, and we have no one currently that excels at stopping an attack.

it just worries me that all the hype is on arshavin when it should be on a defensive player. i hope wenger is keeping a defensive signing under the radar from the media (and us) because we need that before we need arshavin.

  13. Terry T

Exactly…. but i trust wenger and think he must be keeping it hush, i mean we kept the sol campbell deal quiet which was one of footballs best kept secrets.. I think the last 24 hours of transfer window will be very exciting for us arsenal fans.

    Almunia?
    Sagna Toure Upson/Richards Clichy

    ?
    Walcott Fabregas Nasri/Arshavin Rosicky

    Adebayor V.persie
We need a defensive midfielder but when every1s fit whos being dropped Nasri? Arshavin? if we sign him? Surely for £15million hes not gona warm the bench up? Walcott has to play so does rosicky when hes fit, and most defently our skipper fabregas is 1st name on teamsheet. Nasri’s been a bit hit n miss so far this season but a good player and was expensive for us gunners.
