Don’t get me wrong, I’m totally in shock by the news that our talisman Cesc Fabregas could be out of action for up to 4 months, and without him we’ll struggle to stamp our authority in the Champions League, and that is really our biggest hope of some decent silverware this season.
However, with the news of Fabregas being out of action, it could force Wenger to finally break the bank and buy big in January. Wenger has admitted that he is more likely to buy in January after the news. Story here.
One rumour that doesn’t seem to go away, and if anything is growing stronger and stronger, are the reports linking us to Russian playmaker Andrei Arshavin. For me, Arshavin seems a little bit like a Tottenham signing, one good season and everyone thinks he’s the best player in the world. It just doesn’t seem to be the way Wenger does business. Personallly, I’d rather him go for someone proven over a number of years like Moutinho of Porto, or Diego of Werder Bremen. Also, I don’t see Arshavin as a natural replacement for Fabregas, he seems much more suited to the wings or behind a striker. Maybe that’s what Wenger has got in mind for him. Walcott is out until March, Rosicky is never coming back, Nasri seems to be injured as much as Rosicky, Diaby is fucking shit, and Eboue doesn’t seem to have a future at the club. We do seem short on top quality wingers, to such an extent that we’re playing Denilson out on the right. He’s shit in his natural position of centre midfield, why is he going to be any better playing out of position?
In other news, Bendtner has issues an ultimatum to Arsene Wenger by declaring that Le Boss should start him or he’ll leave. Quite frankly, if that’s the attitude of a 20-year-old trying to make the grade at Arsenal, then he should fuck off. To be fair to Bendtner, I’m sure he can do a better job anywhere on the pitch than Diaby or Denilson can, so I can understand his unhappiness to be left out and having to watch these two cowboys. I’m sure 60,000 fans won’t agree with me when I keep hammering on about how shit Diaby is, but a) you are entitled to your opinion of Diaby, but he is shit, and b) I’m sure my 3 fans won’t disagree. If they do, then I’ll have to find 3 fans from elsewhere who agree with me.

Wenger will not sign a massive player in January, he will once again sign a young French player that nobody has heard of. The reason he is talking of signings is to get people excited, knowing he’ll disappoint in January.
