When we faced Man United and Chelsea this year, I was confident enough put my neck out and predict an Arsenal win in both games. With Liverpool, it’s a different story. They are hard to break down, they stick 10 men behind the ball and they rely on that one goal to win a game, a bit like Arsenal under George Graham but a little more boring.
I’m going to predict a score of 1-1 today, with Liverpool taking the lead early on and Arsenal equalising very late on. Goalscoring predictions would be Kuyt and Adebayor.
Liverpool will play with Mascherano and Alonso in the middle of the park with Gerrard just sitting in front, and I think this could be a major problem for Arsenal, seeing as we have struggled to replace Flamini and we’re probably playing against the hardest working midfield in the Premiership. Mascherano will go about his business as usual, not causing many problems but preventing lots, Alonso will spread the play and Gerrard will add the energy to the trio. Whoever we play in the middle of the park against these three is going to find it hard, whether it be Song or Denilson. Maybe Wenger will go like-for-like and stick Diaby ahead of Fabregas to keep Mascherano on his toes. Either way, it’s going to be a tough game, and I’ll be absolutely over the moon with 3 points today, but I’m thinking it’s a point a piece. Liverpool will not win the Premiership, it will be Chelsea or Man United, but we always tend to struggle to break Liverpool down.
In other news, just checked out the official Arsenal website, and came across this advert:

Djourou and Clichy seemed up for the fun, and they understood the seriousness of the issue so decided to take part in a little light hearted joke by wearing a wig. Why didn’t Adebayor do the same?
Djourou looks like Serena Williams.

Spot on 1-1. always had a draw written all over it.
Another performance lacking that real quality today. We look ordinary.
HAHA! Adebayors wig!
Sad display by arsenal…
Fabregas out for months
Fabregas out for a few months is a massive blow. We’re likely to see Ramsey given a chance I hope.
