I wasn’t watching Sky Sports and keeping up with all of the results today, instead I was shopping and some guy had his radio on and I asked him the Arsenal score, which at the time was 1-0 and I could do was laugh! It was a nervous laugh, but it was also filled with amazement as to how bad we have been this season, and how ridiculous this season really is! In the end it finished 3-0 to Man City and I was absolutely gutted in a shell-shocked sort of way. The full match report is here if you really want to read it.
Gallas was stripped of the captaincy late last night, so that could be partly blamed for the bad performance, but to a certain extent Gallas is totally right, some of the younger players (notably van Persie) just don’t seem up for it. One thing you’ll get with Gallas is fight and spirit, and he definitely tries to get the players going. We do not have another player at the club who has the same attributes as Gallas in that sense; Fabregas is too young and he doesn’t encourage, I don’t think a goalkeeper should be captain so not to Almunia, Clichy is too young and inexperienced, Sagna hasn’t been at Arsenal long enough, Toure seems like the best candidate but he’s hardly the same calibre as Keane, Vieira, Adams, Terry, etc.
Henry was captain of Arsenal, he was a diabolical captain, so too was Gilberto. These players need to concentrate on their own game. But Gallas is as good as we’ve got right now, and we should have all got behind him. Instead, we left him to rot, and he became a scapegoat for this will to win.
I’m sure Gallas will be sold, and I’m wishing Arsene Wenger all the luck in the world in signing a replacement.

On a seperate note, just watched Match of the Day. They showed a Wayne Rooney pass 3 times and kept going on about it, but it went nowhere near the intended target (Tevez)!!!! How much do they fucking love that fat tinker!!! He is the most over-rated, fattest, ugliest player in the Premiership. Also, Glen Johnson just scored the goal of the season! Fuck me!!! If you haven’t seen it, make sure you do!!

Agreed. Wenger should think like u, for me in Malaysia, so sad if i see Betner and Sivestre play. Both are looser, weak and lazy. No one can encourage other to fight. Gallas always scored if the team it.

Right about william gallas he was a leader and a big influence among the younger players. We have no captain material. It was right to axe him for what he said though.
Gallas was wrong to go public because Arsenal do things with grace and style but everything he said was right, application when we dont have the ball from RVP, Bendtner, Denilson & Diaby was disgrace and this has been going on for far too long.
hehe, great article. I totally agree with your opinion on Wayne Rooney and the way the TV/Media portray him. It seems he is England’s saviour up-front and the media want to keep that image, bring back Michael Owen i say!

Did anyone see Alan Shearer on MOTD talk about Rooney’s tackle in a Champions League game and saying how bad it was, but he was hoping the FA didn’t punish him!!!! What sort of attitude is that?
