ARSENAL 3-0 WIGAN: THROUGH TO THE QUARTER FINALS

Arsenal are through to the Quarter Final of the Carling Cup after steam rolling Wigan Athletic 3-0, in what can only be described as a battering. If it wasn’t for the heroics of Chris Kirkland in the first half then the scoreline would have been even more embarrassing.

Carlos Vela scored the goal of the game, with a delicate chip over Kirkland from 20 yards, and Jay Simpson scored two.

The full match report can be found here.

There were a lot of good individual performances, but I couldn’t single out one player, I think it was a very, very good team performance. Ramsey showed moments of magic, and I’ve no doubt he’ll replace Fabregas once he decides to go back to Spain, and Vela and Simpson linked up well up front, and I thought the back four looked solid enough. Wilshere showed some great moments too.

All in all a great result. Well done boys.

  • One always tend to think, these boys probably can be thrown in some premier league games as well….coz the seniors at times are dropping points unnecessarily. This team desire always to prove a point, and they won’t be that complacent..just a thought. If the seniors can show such desire, the better.
