After the disappointing 0-0 with Feberbahce last night, I’m amongst a small minority of Arsenal (or possibly the only one) who actually believes the team can win the Champions League.
I am not basing this off last nights performance because a) I didn’t watch it and b) after drawing 0-0 with a team we’d already beaten 5-2 away, I’d be a berk. Why didn’t I watch the game? I Sky plussed it, and it recorded the Celtic v Man U game instead!!! Absolutely gutted. After watching the brief highlights I think it was a blessing in disguise.
Anyway, I’m not sure why I fancy us for the Champions League this year, but I do get one of those “feelings”, similar to the same “feeling” that I’m getting ahead of the Man U game this Saturday. I had the same “feeling” when we beat Man U at Old Trafford 1-0 thanks to Marc Overmars, and the same “feeling” when we beat Liverpool at Anfield 2-0 in 1989. The Champions League is a lottery and if Liverpool can win it, why is so unrealistic to think we can win it?
Clearly, we’re playing diabolical at the moment, but we’re just going through a blip, every team has one and we’re going through one right now. I believe Man U have been through the blip already this season, and Livepool and Chelsea will go through one, hence the reason Man U will win the Premiership.
Am I the only who thinks Arsenal can win the Champions League? Am I on crack? Am I mental? Am I thick? You tell me.

I got the same feeling, but I think AW needs to buy one defensive midfielder and a central defender in January…

For me Juventus will win this year Champions League but Arsenal (I am Arsenal from 1974) can go to the final game to Rome…we know the 16 teams but only one will win hope Arsenal to win as many games and even the Cup

Without a replacement being found for Cesc who can play in the Champions league we don’t stand a chance.
We have as good a chance as any of the clubs but without, Walcott, Rosicky, Fabregas we have a near non-existent mid-field.
Denilson’s off form, Diaby isn’t quite there yet and the defense isn’t near strong enough (don’t know why Wenger won’t play Toure) to cope.
My predictions are that with the injury problems this year we will be lucky with a Top 4 league finish. The Champion’s League has a LOT to do with luck however and for heavens sake we are due some by now
