Arsenal secured a good win at Upton Park after beating West Ham 2-0 in the kind of game which was always a potential banana skin. Full match report can be found here.
Arsenal back in 4th place, 4 points behind leaders Liverpool, and 4 points ahead of Champions Manchester United.
It was one of those games where you really couldn’t see where the goal was going to come from, but Adebayor came off the subs bench to make the first and score the second.
Anyway, straight to the player ratings for me.
Almunia (8/10) – Never really had too much to do, but he didn’t put a foot wrong. Wish he would put an end to the camera saves though.
Eboue (6.5/10) – Quiet game, but he did enough to West Ham quiet.
Gallas (8.5/10) – Regardless of what most fans make of him, and the recent publicity, he really was on fire today. See what I done there?!!? He’s not a bad player, he just doesn’t seem to play with Toure.
Silvestre (7.5/10) – Looked nervy at times, but he did enough. Looks like he could be a great signing, covering both Toure/Gallas and Clichy when unavailable.
Clichy (8/10) – Needs to work on his crossing. Up and down as usual though, did well.
Walcott (7.5/10) – Surprised to see him substituted, still yet to finish a Premiership game this season. Looked absolutely quality at times. Needs to learn when to do certain things, but that will come with age.
Song (7.5/10) - I thought he started off dodgy but got better and better as the game went on. Possesses the same tenacity as Flamini, but still lacks the stamina. At times he was a bit lazy coming back. He can play football though, and I don’t think he gets enough credit for this.
Fabregas (8/10) – Quality as usual. Gave away some lazy passes at times, but he dictates play and he’s not a robot.
Nasri (5/10) - After I was singing his praises last week, and kept going on about never giving the ball away, that’s all he seemed to do today!! Tottenham never seem to get relegated, let’s see if my theory works.
Bendtner (7.5/10) – Quiet at times, but I thought he was the best player in the last 30 minutes or so. Lacking the pace you associate Arsenal players with, but so too is Fabregas to be fair. He’s still very young, and I think he’ll play a big part this season. Nice moment when he went out of the way to help Adebayor to his feet, Adebayor still hates him though!
Van Persie (5.5/10) – I thought he was a bit ropey. Yes, he hit the post from a great free kick, but he didn’t do much else.
Subs:
Adebayor (8/10) - Changed the game as soon as he came on. Broke down the a resiliant West Ham defence.
Diaby (6/10) – Gave the ball away a few times, but he’s getting better. I’m still not convinced by him. Only time will tell. How long do we have to wait though?
Sagna (-/10) - Came on for one minute!
My man of the match? I’m not going to give it to an Arsenal player, I’m going to give it to Robert Green. Always seems to up his game against us.
Carlton Cole’s tackle on Song was bad, but was it a red card? I don’t think so.
Next up, Tottenham on Wednesday, I’ll be shocked if don’t put 4 or 5 past them.
Well done Arsenal.
Thanks to PoD for the new Football Words inclusion. Clutching at straws, but I am struggling!!
Arsenal News 24/7

Rob Green did have a very good game and the score would have been high if it was not for him.
does ade still hate bendtner??
so brotherly xD
I think he’s trying his best to like him but they still never seem to celebrate together.
Sheringham and Cole hated each other and they worked wonders together.
