After going 1-0 down against Bolton from a goal from that horrible bastard Kevin Davies, the team fought back to win 3-1, and playing some excellent on the way. Full match report can be found here.
Firstly, let me just say I absolutely hate Kevin Davies and everything about him, and for that I despise Bolton. However, the tackle on Clichy was a great tackle, as much as Arsenal fans want to disagree. Just like the Joey Barton tackle on Nasri early on in the season, both tackles were very aggressive, but very fair. Let’s not be a bunch of little girls and moan and cry against every little tackle against one of our players, as I do not believe our club is about that. Now jog on.
Anyway, here is my brief summary of some of the players on show today.
Almunia had a great game, and he seems to be getting more and more confident with every game under his belt. Seems very safe.
Toure, Gallas, Clichy and Sagna all looked pretty solid, but there are still some doubts about our back four and the lack of power about them. Toure’s tackle on Gardner was absolutely different class, proper Bobby Moore style.
Eboue is looking like a really handy player this season. Give a man a chance and I’m sure he’ll prove you fickle fans wrong. I don’t want to say I told you so, but I told mentioned it numerous times on my blog before this season, and I told everyone Eboue would come good. He’ll get better.
Song looks solid enough, he’s still my preferred partner for Fabregas over anybody else in our squad. Denilson and Diaby are not good enough.
Denilson scored a goal and set one up, and this may seem ridiculous but I think he is shit! I really do. All he seems to do is give the ball away. Very similar to Denilson. Please tell me one good game Denilson has had this season?
Fabregas was very quiet today and didn’t really seem up for it. I would’ve subbed him.
Adebayor and Bendtner both looked good when they got the ball, not many complaints about these two.
Walcott has turned into the best player in the world! He is looking absolutely quality, it’s amazing what a little bit of confidence will do to a player.
One thing is for sure, going forward we are the best team in the Premiership, but we still look a little shaky at the back.
Top of the Premiership tonight. Thank you.

Top of the league, what more do we want? Manure or Chelsea will drop points tomorrow so its looking good for us. All negative now seems all positing.

Is it just me or has Gallas been the culprit of every goal we conceded??
He is far from a good captain.
Its because of him being the captain that nobody could fault him on the field.
He is a bully in my opinion, always screaming at his team if ever a mistake was made.
But who is screaming as his bloody ears when he is at fault? NOBODY!!!
Arsene has been backing him most times rather than punishing the tw*t.
He should be dropped and somebody should be given a chance instead.

I hear you Max. The goal on Saturday was his fault, so too was the Fulham goal and the build up to the Dynamo Kyiv penalty.
I think the problem is there isn’t a lot of good centre backs available, and every club in the world is looking for one. It’s probably the hardest position to fill. Off the top of my head, in the Premiership I can only think of the likes of Vidic, Ferdinand, Carvalho and Carragher who I would like to see at Arsenal. Possibly Micah Richards at a push, but he is by no means the finished article.

The Kevin Davies tackle on Gael Clichy was ruthless and disgusting. It was horrible and could have easily broken his leg.

walcott is looking like a totally different player. the guy was one for the boo boys last season, now he looks amazing. he’s only going to get better.

Since the England hat-trick, he has looked like a different player. Let’s hope he doesn’t lose his confidence and go back to the player he was last season

You Scott and Eboue – you still like the guy. Of course he is looking better but we need to wait and see. I also agree with joe bloggs, that Denilson is good – thats why Arsene himself said he can take his opportunity – he needs time, and please let’s not compare him to Flamini yet. Let’s not forget, he is only very young and would certainly improve. I think with more games, he can be in there for a long time, coz of increased confidence. This guy is going to play more this season..watch out..and people will love him in the end.

Scott, remember the words of Arsene himself about Denilson recently, “Denilson has different qualities to Flamini but if you look at the numbers at the end of the season you will see he is a very good player. You look at the assists he has had since the start of the season, the balls he wins, the interceptions he has and the distance he covers.
“He is maybe not a flashy player but he is an efficient player.”
If his manager can say that about him, that can tell us he is prepared to give the boy a chance. What do you say scott?

I hope I like Denilson towards the end of the season Rodwell, I really do.
I have to admit, I’ve been one of those fans who have easily slagged off players when they have not played well and gone on to become quality. I was battering Henry when he joined, and I wasn’t a fan of Flamini until last season.
I do hope I’m wrong about Denilson.

denilson is a good player…however ramsey n wilshere nid more games 2 play…arsene pls play them…

I’d like to see more of Ramsey he always looks good when he plays. promising times ahead for arsenal fans.

I would also like to see ramset and even wilshire get more chances but most of all I would like to see more of vela, bendtner is crap in my opinion, of course he can score if the ball hits him and he looks so clumsy on the field. But I think Vela would do much more for the team, i’m not saying wenger should start him but at least give him 15 minutes now and then:/ what do you say guys? Am I the only one who feels this way about Vela ???
September 23, 2008 at 8:45 am
I think Vela is a very promising player, and Wenger is doing all he can to protect him. He does seem a little lightweight and you can understand Wenger only bringing him on when the games are won, or when the game is in desperate need of a spark in the last 10 minutes or so. He used to do the same thing with Walcott.
Vela does look quality, and I think every Arsenal fan shares the same opinon.
