ARSENAL TRIED TO SIGN M’BIA

According to the player himself, Arsenal did attempt to sign Stephane M’Bia during the last few hours of the transfer window. You can read the full report here.

“Everyone knows there are clubs that are after me, that is not new, Arsenal made contact in the last hours of the past market but the club did not want to let me go,”

I don’t know much about M’Bia apart from him being a young defensive midfielder, who plays for French club Rennes, and is a Cameroon international. He does have bad breath though.

There was also talk of Wenger making a last-ditch bid to sign Xabi Alonso from Liverpool, so it does seem that he made the effort. You can understand why he started changing his tune during the days before the transfer window, as he would’ve looked like a fool if he didn’t sign anybody. Does Wenger really plan on using Silvestre, or was this a clever ploy to convince the fans that the we did buy the “one player” before the FC Twente game.

Look don’t be so down. We don’t really need to buy M’bia. He is good but he will kill the progression of the youngsters we have. Diaby is similar to this guy but can be better.

  5. Don’t get me started on Diaby! :)

Song is our only hope for the role as defensive midfielder. Diaby and Denilson are not good enough.

  6. According to GoonerTalk, Appiah is flying in to London for talks. Not sure which team though, but West Ham looking like favourites?
