IS APPIAH THE ANSWER?

All seemed doom and gloom for Arsenal after the transfer window closed at midnight on Monday, but the latest reports linking us to Ghanaian midfield general Stephen Appiah seem to have given us Arsenal fans a glimmer of hope of finally signing the defensive midfielder we are crying out for.

“My dream is to play in the Premier League and with the help of God, I will realise that dream.”

Is Stephen Appiah the answer? I’ve got to be honest, I’ve not seen much of him apart from the usual You Tube videos where any player can look brilliant. He’s been capped 50 times by Ghana, and he’s played for the likes of Juventus, Udinese and Fenerbahce, so he can’t be that bad.

He’s available on a free transfer after being released by Fenerbache so it’s not really that much of a gamble, and at 27 he’s at the ideal age and experience for our youthful squad, and the inclusion of Appiah and Silvestre could prove to be a masterstroke by Wenger.

Just what we need. He’s perfect.

  2. He looks like a big, powerful unit. We need someone who is built like a brick shit house, and he certainly is that! Intimidating.

  3. raffy

we need to instill some powere into our relatively young squad and he will be the perfect partner for cesc. he will be a good signing for us if we buy him.

  4. Gary Lewin

Not sure about his fitness. Didn’t he play on Friday for the first time in ages? Free transfer isn’t a risk thought.

  5. Luke

    Good player.

He played most of the game on Friday, came on after 20 minutes. If he can put his injuries behind him he will be a good player and a valuable asset for arsenal.

    I hope we buy him.

  6. Not An Agent

There seems to be a lot of talk about Appiah coming to the premiership but it all smells a little fishy and seems to be agents trying to earn there money. i wont be surprised if we didnt get him, i think its paper/agent talk.

  7. agent smith

its all paper and agent talk. he wont come to arsenal.

  8. I’ll be happy with anyone right now!

I was ecstatic when Silvestre signed, that’s how desperate I’m getting.

I know exactly what you’re feeling friends. I was over the moon with the signing of Silvestre too, and it’s a very sad time for Arsenal fans. I try to be as optimistic as possible but its hard when teams are spending millions and we are being left behind.

  10. buto..we don need him!we must buy marcos senna!

I like Senna, he was one of the best players in Euro 2008 and he’s been brilliant in Spain for a few years now. So old though!! I think he’s about 30 isn’t he?
