SENDEROS TO COMPLETE MILAN MOVE

Philippe Senderos is set to complete his loan move to Milan very soon, according to Arsene Wenger.

“Senderos has gone to Milan,” said the Arsenal manager.

I’m pleased with this move as I thought Senderos was never really going to cut it at Arsenal, and I’m sure most fans will agree.

The Italian league may suit his game, but he’s still going to get the odd powerful and/or quick striker (notably Ibrahimovich, Adriano, and Amauri) and we all know what happens to Senderos when he faces players like these. We’ve seen it many times before, ala Drogba and Torres. Senderos was always a good centre back against a weak opponent. Maybe playing alongside the likes of Maldini will improve his game, if so we’ll take him back next season.

Although we’ve lost a couple of big players this season, I do believe that the sale of Flamini is the only one which will affect is enough to make a difference. Hopefully, we’ll sign that defensive midfielder to finally replace Flamini this week, but you never know with Wenger. One minute he’s losing his marbles, the next he’s surprising us all with signings.

I’m glad hes gone, hes shit. Lets get in a decent defender to replace him and Hoyte now.

Let’s not forget he was an integral part of our defense during our Champions league run a few years ago: 10 games without a goal. And it’s not like we played chumps: Juve, Real Madrid. Yes he’s made some mistakes but he’s only 23, early days for a center back. And it’s not like Gallas is any better. Why do Wenger and many fans make excuses for Gallas and give him a pass while Senderos is made the scapegoat? I’d keep Senderos and give Gallas the boot.

  3. Senderos is a confidence player, similarly to Walcott and Eboue. When things aren’t going well these players don’t seem to have the mental strength to cope.

Interestingly, Wenger has been been quoted as saying “it’s not one player that makes the difference” – well, go out and buy two then!!!

The Kranjcar rumours seem to be heating up again.

Has anyone else heard the Jonathan De Guzman from Feynoord rumour? I don’t put much stock in the source but as a Canadian I find it intriguing. Even though he’s declared himself for holland. His brother plays for Canada ( and Deportivo in Spain). The article in question (Caught offside which doesn’t have the greatest rep) compares him to hargreaves – anothe Canadian who decided to play for another country. Too bad. This is the best Canadian team we’ve had in years.

  5. I read about De Guzman earlier today, I’ve not really seen him play but he’s good on Football Manager!! :)

Is he actually a defensive midfielder DAmon? He always struck me as the creative type.

I do believe he’s more of an attcking midfield type. he scored twice for Holland’s U21s recently though he wasn’t called to the Euro squad. Why the article i read compared him to hargreaves I don’t know. The same article kept referring to him as Daniel De Guzman so I would consider the source before putting too much into this story.

have to agree about the article, i noticed they were referring to daniel too!!!

Have to agree with you there DAmon…
Why don’t Gallas get the criticisms when he plays like sh*t?
I have always believed that Senderos will turn really good.
Its a shame that he is or might be leaving on permanent.

I am still praying hard that Wenger gets Veloso..
    He’s a class act!
    Hahaha….

  9. We’ve got about 5 hours left before we sign that player Wenger was talking about signing before the FC Twente game. I sure hope the signing isn’t Silvestre as I will be very pissed off!!

Looks like Barry is staying at Villa according to his agent. Much talk in the Arsenal blogosphere that both Liverpool and Arsenal are waiting on the results of today’s games before they buy. Or they may be wating to see how tough their groups are after tomorrows draw for the group stage. Some say Liverpool will sell us Alonso after they’re assured of qualifying. Or will sell us Alonso if they don’t qualify. I beginning to think no one really knows anything and that the more I try to wrap my head around this current siutation the more i feel like Will Ferral in Zoolander: ” I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!”
