After our reserve side drew with Sevilla’s fist team 1-1 in our second game of the Amsterdam Tournament, we are left to wait for the result of the Ajax v Inter Milan game to find out if we win the tournament. 1-0 to Inter Milan at half-time, and they need to win 4-0 to beat Arsenal to the trophy. ARTICLE HAS CHANGED SLIGHTLY AS WE HAVE WON THE TOURNAMENT, AND POST WAS UPDATED.
Carlos Vela got the only Arsenal goal of the game after just 3 minutes, which lead me to believe we were going win about 18-0 but it never happens like that.
Some very bad news for Arsenal fans. Middlesbrough chief scout was at the game presumably having a closer look at Justin Hoyte. Based on this performance, there is absolutely no chance Middlesbrough are signing him, so it looks like we’ve got him for at least another season.
Here’s my individual player ratings for the game:
Fabianski – 9/10 – Did excellent. Didn’t put a foot wrong, and seems to be gaining in confidence. He loves a throw!
Hoyte – 1/10 – Absolutely useless. Was nowhere to be seen whenever Capel had the ball. This guy is almost as bad as Diaby.
Djourou – 7/10 – Good enough performance.
Senderos – 7/10 – Same as Djourou, did a good job. He didn’t look like his usual nervous self.
Gibbs – 6/10 – I don’t have an opinion on Gibbs’s performance. It was hard to work out how well he played as he played in three different positions throughout the game.
Wilshere – 7/10 – Steady performance from little Jack. Struggled to get involved but whenever he was involved something looked like it was going to happen.
Randall – 5/10 – Not very good. I don’t think Randall has really progressed how Wenger would have liked, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he is loaned out again this season with a view to a permanent move.
Ramsey – 6/10 – Not his best game, but he had some nice little touches. The pass over the top to Bendtner was different class. Gave away the ball a couple of times, and was generally quite sloppy in our third of the pitch.
Thomas – 5/10 - Didn’t do a lot. Don’t think he has a future at Arsenal, just because he is too big for the kit. He reminds me of this guy. What a model.
Bendtner – 8/10 – Done well tonight. He looked really good, and caused a lot of problems.
Vela – 6.5/10 – Scored a great goal but didn’t do much else. Has scored a few goals in pre-season but hasn’t really looked too great. It will come though. I’d prefer to see him on the wing.
On a side note, every time I see Luis Fabiano, I can’t help but think of a very gay fight he had. I’ve seen a few people who cannot fight at all, but this is taking the piss. On paper, they both look like very hard men!!
I had a dream last night that AC Milan had a £250,000 bid accepted for Abou Diaby. I would fancy us to win the Premiership comfortably if that actually happened.

listening to the post-match analysis, ray wilkins is a knob. he’s talking about arsenal having serious problems next season, we’ve just won the amsterdam tournament!!!
people have written us off every season for the last 10 years. we’ll show people AGAIN!

ROFL.. wow man why do you support arsenal… why do people like you support arsenal its not even a joke.. how can you say diaby is bad…. you are one real clueless shit… you base your whole knowledge on a player from one pre season match… maybe you should watch him when he played against ac Milan and juve..
go support a team like Chelsea where they believe in buying talent not developing it.

HAHA!! Your opinion is very valid, as is mine.
I watched enough of Diaby last season to base my opinion on. I didn’t decide he was bad after the Madrid game, I’ve always thought he was bad.
The guy is a liability.
Is Diaby really developing? He was twice the player three years ago!!!

Diaby is a plonker based on diaby. He has a turn or two and a shot but he’s got a football brain like gazza, only after 10 pints. Only an true idiot cares anything about the preseason results, it’s about seeing where the players are. ‘people have written us off every season for the last 10 years. we’ll show people AGAIN!’ = drooling idiot, are you 12 yet? what have we shown anyone in the last four years?

Fran, to be fair he was referring to the last 10 years!
I’m confident we’ll do well next season. Wenger will still buy at least one more player.

Wenger not buying good players for win. he buy player for sell later, hope for money. Why we pay so much for ticket and no money? Where all money go to? Supporters who like status quo is masochist fan, very very stupid, very bad.

i watched the match on tv… and sev was like … erm… dominating…
our young midfield can’t seem to hold onto the ball.. and whenever diego and jesus got the ball … the sure make it into the box… that is EXCITING and SCARY… hoyte… i dun understand y aresene said he was a quality player… he shud have been given a 0/10 rating.. not even 1.. he cannot cross he cannot defend… he cannot run with the ball.. nothing he cud do… but.. well… we can steal a draw from the senior team with out youth team.. i am quite surprised..

So right about Hoyte. I get the feeling Wenger is only playing him so he can put him in the shop window, might backfire on that performance though.
