Nothing to really write about today, apart from the fact that Arsene Wenger has reiterated that he is in the market for another midfielder. The full article can be found here. It’s absolutely 100% clear that we have no replacement for Flamini just yet, and the fact that Wenger keeps going about this “experienced player” can only be positive for the club, as the position vacated by Flamini and Gilberto really needs someone oozing experience. We cannot have a season with Diaby slotting in, he’s terrible, and Denilson is surely Fabregas’s long term replacement when the Spaniard does finally decide to move back to Spain. The signs are surely leading to Xabi Alonso, who you would hope would be free to join Arsenal once Liverpool seal the Barry deal.

On a separate note, our reserves beat Huddersfield 2-1 last night, with goals from Sanchez Watt and Nacer Barazite. I’m sure if Diaby was playing we would have lost 4-2 and he would have been useless. Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere once again had decent enough games, and I’m predicting 15 Premiership appearances for Ramsey and 5 for Wilshere this season. The fact that Wilshere is only 16 years old won’t make a single bit of difference, Wenger will play him.

I’m still holding out for that phone call one day when someone tells me that Jack Wilshere is actually my real son. It’s possible. I’m clutching onto a dream, a very unrealistic dream, but a dream nonetheless.

Looking forward to the Amsterdam Tournament this weekend, where you’ll get a real indication of our strongest team in Wenger’s opinion.
