I don’t think you can judge him on one bad performance, he’s absolutely quality with premiership experience. The boy can defend.

As for Diaby, I have to disagree on that one Damon, I think he would be diabolical in a defensive role. He gives the ball away far too often and he’s not confindent enough in the tackle. I know Wenger has said Song will play at the back, but I do believe he is only player with enough tenacity to be playing in the holding midfield role.

I’ll admit Alonso is a quality player but is he really an ideal replacement for Flamini? Anyone who saw his non-tackle against Barnet in the FA Cup last year will attest to this. I’d like to see Diaby get a shot – much like Flamini did last year – though last year he showed he could be somewhat lazy and/or rash with his tackling. I’m sure Wenger must have something up his sleeve …
