It has emerged that Ivorian striker Gervinho is wanted by Arsenal, according to Skysports.
“Today I am a bit known in Europe. Arsenal have spoken to my agents and they are looking at it.
“Arsenal are a big team, they have made it clear they want me. However, [Le Mans president] Henri Legarda is saying no to them.
The exciting news is that Gervinho is young and African, that’s generally a good mixture for Wenger. The only disappointing news would be that he has scored 2 goals in 25 appearances for French club Le Mans. I wouldn’t be too fussed if he was a midfielder or he was 17 years old, but for a 21-year-old striker, that’s not great.
Meanwhile, Aaron Ramsey has finally signed for Arsenal on a long-term contract. It’s on the official website here. Personally, I think is very exciting news. Not seen him much, but the fact that Man United, Everton and Liverpool were all willing to pay £5m for him, sure would indicate he’s something special.
