ARSENAL TO PIP BORDEAUX FOR FRENCH WONDERKID?

Young Guns are reporting that Arsenal are very close to signing young French winger Yoan Gouffran from Caen.

This is one of the players I thought we should and could realistically sign in an article I posted on 8th May. He’s a quick and lively winger who is just as comfortable up front, and he’s very much a Thierry Henry-esque player, and not just because he’s French and quick. They both love to assist as much as score goals.

Gouffran scored 10 goals from 36 matches last season, playing for Caen, who are probably the French equivalent to Middlesborough or Tottenham. They’re never going to be finish consistently in the top half but you might get the odd bad result against them now and again. His goal tally was by no means dreadful for this type of club, but I’m sure you’ll see better results playing for one of the big four.

This is a player that really does excite me, and I’d be a very happy man if we signed both him and Nasri. Ben Arfa would be a distant memory, and long forgotten.

I have one more lookalike here sent in from Dave Mac in Herts. Thanks Dave. Please keep sending the lookalikes to scott@arsenal-opinion.com and I’ll be sure to post the best ones.

I really want us to sign Nasri. But if Hleb goes then we’ll need to sign two midfielders, Nasri and Gouffran. Lovely.

  3. Gouffran is by no means the finished article, but he is very young. I agree with you Ulysees, I’d love to sign the pair of them.
