I spoke to a friend today who knows a journalist who works for BBC, and the latest news from inside is that Samir Nasri is waiting for Euro 2008 to be over to see if any other clubs come in for him. Wenger has already claimed that the deal will definitely not go through before the tournament. Whether this is true or not, I don’t know, but I really hope not, as clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid and Chelsea will outbid Arsenal if he were to have a storming tournament. I guess the fact that he has a relatively low buy-out clause in his contract would mean we cannot be out-bid, and I’m hoping that it’s just a matter of a few technicalities that need finalising that are holding up the deal.
I’m sure Nasri will sign for Arsenal, but if he doesn’t then we can all trust in Wenger to unearth another gem as he won’t be relying on target. Let’s not all panic if the Nasri deal falls through.

I hope you’re right. He does look like a quality player, and one I’m sure all of us Arsenal fans are hoping for.
