Arsenal are likely to sign a couple of young French footballers, as the media are speculating. We’re being linked with a lot of players, and it seems like every single young Frenchman is joining Arsenal. The Nasri deal will be concluded soon (according to Wenger), and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if we only signed one more young addition to the squad. I doubt that addition will be Ben Arfa, as I really can’t see us making two big signings, and the feeling is that once Nasri is off it’ll make way for Ben Arfa to move to Marseille.
“There’s a good chance of it happening,” Wenger told Telefoot. “And if it does, it will be before the beginning of Euro 2008.”
Wenger has always said that he wants two top quality players in each position, and I feel that we may be very close to this. Our squad (minus Hleb and Flamini, with the addition of Nasri) could look like this-

RB Sagna / Eboue CB Toure / Song CB Gallas / Senderos LB Clichy / Traore
RM Walcott / Nasri CM Gilberto / ??? CM Fabregas / Denilson LM Rosicky / Vela

We’ve also got Djourou and Diaby to include in that squad. For all we know, Wenger may consider playing Diaby as a defensive midfielder, which scares the life out of me as I personally wouldn’t put him in an Arsenal shirt ever. I hope Wenger proves me wrong though.
I’ve stuck Senderos in the list of players fighting for a first team place because Wenger is clearly a fan of his. He gave him the number 6 jersey, and Tony Adams revealed that he was considered as the club captain a couple of years back. Let’s not forget that he is still young, and centre back generally peak at a later age.
In the past, if we’ve ever sold a big player or two, we’ve always replaced them but we’ve never added to the squad without selling.
So it looks like we’ll probably sign a centre midfielder to replace Flamini, and that’s probably about it. Regardless of who we sign, let’s all have faith in Mr Wenger.

I’d like us to sign Yaya Toure or Makoun. Not seen much of Makoun but I’ve heard he’s good. We need a defensive midfielder because the young boys aren’t up for that role just yet.

If Veloso left Sporting, I’d imagine he’d go to Man U. He’s Portuguese.
They do have three defensive midfielders already so you never know.

I’ve got Nasri down as right midfield. I’m sure he’ll play across the midfield, but for argument sake I stuck him on the right.
Vela has been playing on the wing pretty much all season for Osasuna.

He looked quality playing on the wing, and Wenger does like converting players. We’ve all got high hopes for Vela.
We need Yaya T. or Miguel Veloso to replace Flamini. Nasri right Midfield and Vela Left Midfield. Kompany must come in so senderos can go on leave.

Senderos is a young centre back who is yet to reach his peak, I think we should give him a chance. During the ACN when Toure was away, he covered and he was absolutely quality. He’s had a lot of stick for one game in my opinion (when Torres turned him inside out).
