ARSENAL TO SIGN £5m PSG STARLET

If the rumours are true about Arsenal signing Clement Chantome from PSG, then we could have ourselves a decent little player.

I just watched the Lyon v PSG French Cup Final, and Chantome stood out as being one of the best players on the pitch. Don’t get me wrong, he’s no Quaresma, Robinho or Ronaldo when it comes to skills but he’s a lively player, and he was involved in pretty much every incident in the game. As Jaap Stam would say, he’s a busy cunt, not in the same way that the Neville brothers are though.

There have been suggestions that he’s going to be our replacement for Flamini. I have absolutely no idea who made that assumption as he played very high up the pitch and he is by no means a defensive midfielder. This is the only game I’ve ever seen him play, so he may be playing out of position tonight. Either way, he done a good job on the right wing.

Chantome was substituted late in the game, while it was 0-0, and PSG eventually went on to lose the game 1-0 in extra time with a goal from Sydney Govou.

Interestingly, Ben Arfa was once again an unused sub, and he didn’t look too happy. He’s definitely off, whether its to Arsenal or not I do not know, but I can only hope.

I’ve got no new lookalikes today. If you have any, please send them onto me at scott@arsenal-opinion.com and I’ll be sure to publish the good ones.

  • I’ve seen Chantome play a couple of times here and there. If I recall, he generally plays a more advancec, attacking role so I doubt he would be a replacement for Flamini’s position.

I agree with you – he’s always looked pretty lively and with a decent work ethic. He could be a useful signing.
