If we’re to believe every rumour, then next season we would have a completely new squad consisting of World Cup winners and £20 million plus superstars.
The latest star to be linked with Arsenal is Roma playmaker Alberto Aquilani, and according to the players agent it’s pretty much a matter of time before we see him in an Arsenal shirt.
“Aquilani is speaking to Arsenal. We will have to see if Roma will be able to match his demands.“
So next season we’ll have Ben Arfa parading down one wing, Samir Nasri nutmegging a couple of baffled midfielders down the other wing, and Fabregas and Aquilani strutting their stuff in the middle of the park. I wonder if Robinho will actually get a game. Miguel Veloso will keep it together behind Cesc and Aqua.
I think for the first season in years, Arsenal fans will be disappointed with a player who is NOT a big name. The general feeling is that we’re going to sign a big name, and I hope we won’t be disappointed.
I don’t know about you, but Aquilani’s eyes are too close together for my liking.
Here’s a YouTube video of him.

By all accounts, Aquilani is a very good player, but I’ve got a feeling this rumour will be filed away in the draw marked ‘complete bullshit’
I think John II Makoun is the most likely candidate to fill the shoes of our favourite money-grabbing ex-holding midfielder.
I’m a first time reader – great site by the way.
Thanks James.
It is becoming increasingly boring (and fun) to be linked with all of these world class players. Makoun does seem to fit the bill, as he’s young, french and relatively unknown (and cheap).
cheap,french and young
mmmmmm im hungry
You made me laugh, but it is true. His eyes are far too close together, it’s frigging creepy.
