Things didn’t quite work out for Lassana Diarra as we all thought they would. Stop banging on about Arsenal and Arsene Wenger, we’re not taking you back.
I would loved him to have stayed at Arsenal and fought for his place (like Flamini did for two years) and then stake a claim in the first team. It wasn’t to be. Reality is, he was never going to dislodge Flamini from his midfield role and Sagna from his right-back role, but at least see it out for a season and he would’ve been guaranteed at least 10 starts since January.
Another case of a player getting too big for his own little boots.
